Comprehensive sex education urgently needed
- Rebecca Sultana, Msida
I refer to the news item Backing For Morning-After Pill In Exceptional Circumstances and the online comments that appeared on September 17.
Labelling and portraying opponents of the morning-after pill as "fundamentalists&q...uot;, "old-fashioned", "narrow minded", "hypocrites", influenced by "religious prejudice" and "conservatives" is very misleading and damaging. I am neither of the above, but I appreciate the value of life in all its forms....read more

19-06-2009
According to a new study published by the Global Campaign for the Health Development on behalf of the Network of Global Leaders, released 15 June 2009. the most "elusive" of the U.N.'s eight Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) are the ones relating to health: reducing child mortality (Goal 4), improving maternal health (Goal 5) and combating HIV/AIDS, malaria and other diseases (Goal 6). The study highlights practical ways to "reduce the continuing and unnecessary death toll in developing countries" and calls for scaling up health services to the tune of 36-45 billion dollars by 2015.
